Lead Hazard Evaluation and Abatement

This program provides for the public safety, health and welfare insofar as they are affected by the identification and abatement of lead-based paint hazards.

Regulations adopted in July 1995 require the certification of companies performing lead based paint evaluation and abatement. These regulations are called the "Lead Hazard Evaluation and Abatement Code" and they are in the New Jersey Administrative Code (N.J.A.C. 5:17).

Any company offering to perform lead hazard evaluation or abatement in New Jersey must be certified.
